The Invitation of God

History is His Story, it is the story of God and he invites us into His story.

εκκλησία – gathering, assembly, congregation
Jesus did not predict a PLACE, Jesus predicted a PEOPLE.
God does not have A MISSION for His CHURCH God has A CHURCH for His MISSION.

Is love without a choice actually love?
Man & Woman reject God’s invitation to life in exchange for the promise of death.
Genesis 4:7 —> sin is crouching at your door…
Ever regret a decision?
If I knew then what I know now, I would have never done what I did.

The Wisdom of Proverbs
Proverbs 9:1-6
1 Wisdom has built her house; she has set up it’s seven pillars. 2 She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table. 3 She has sent out her servants, and she calls from the highest point of the city, 4 “Let all who are simple come to my house!”
To those who have no sense she says, 5 “Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed. 6 Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight.”
Simple —> one who is easily seduced’
Proverbs 9:13-18
13 Folly is an unruly woman; she is simple and knows nothing. 14 She sits at the door of her house, on a seat at the highest point of the city, 15 calling out to those who pass by, who go straight on their way, 16 “Let all who are simple come to my house!” To those who have no sense she says, 17 “Stolen water is sweet; food eaten in secret is delicious!”
Bigger question is not is there life after death but IS THERE LIFE BEFORE DEATH?

Moses
Numbers 20:12
12 But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.”
Thats not fair
Moses had found something better than the Promise Land. The presence of God!
Joshua 13:33
But to the tribe of Levi, Moses had given no inheritance; the LORD, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as he promised them.
Until you want the Father more than the gifts Father, you will never experience the blessing of the Father.

Parable of the Feast
Luke 14:15-24
“Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.”
16 Jesus replied: “A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. 17 At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ 18 “But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, ‘I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’ 19 “Another said, ‘I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.’ 20 “Still another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’ 21 “The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’ 22 “‘Sir,’ the servant said, ‘what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’ 23 “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. 24 I tell you, not one of those who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.’”
Matthew 7:13-14
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
