Psalm 22:1-5

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so far from saving me,
so far from my cries of anguish?
My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,
by night, but I find no rest.
Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;
you are the one Israel praises.
In you our ancestors put their trust;
they trusted and you delivered them.
To you they cried out and were saved;
in you they trusted and were not put to shame.

Who is Jesus?

Mark 14:38-39
The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died, he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!”

Mark 15:33
At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon.

On Friday again darkness covers the world but on Sunday the Word of God will speak and usher in a new creation.

How does Jesus become King?

What are the implications of our confession, “You are the Messiah”?

Galatians 2:20-21
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

——————————————————————

 Revelation 11:15
“The kingdom of the world has become
       the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,
and he will reign for ever and ever.”

Revelation 5:12; 14
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!”

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”
14 The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

Take Aways

  1. We are a people formed by the cross.

  2. Following the Lamb into the New Creation.

  3. The crucified Christ becomes the living Christ.
