Song of My Heart- Week 1
GARY ALBRITTON   -

The Psalms are the heart cries of God’s people. They are sacred songs born out of both faith and struggle, beauty and brokenness. Psalm 139 is David’s confession of a God who is closer than his own thoughts, a God who sees and understands him completely. That awareness brings both comfort and discomfort, the intimacy of being fully known and the shame of being fully exposed. Like a child who runs to their parent for comfort but hides when they’ve done wrong, David wrestles with the tension of wanting to be near and wanting to escape. Yet the psalm ends in grace: the God who sees everything about us does not turn away, but searches, refines, and leads us in the way everlasting.
