Song of My Heart- Week 2
GARY ALBRITTON   -

After David’s victory over Goliath, he faced 15 years of running from Saul’s jealous rage. During his running, David wrote Psalm 57 while hiding in a cave. The psalm reveals how David found refuge not in the physical cave, but in God himself. Despite his circumstances, David chose worship over despair. Some difficult seasons don’t end quickly like a sunrise, but God’s past faithfulness fuels our hope in present trials. Worship in the midst of storms is defiance against despair. Even when we can’t see the outcome of our struggles, we can trust in God’s character and choose to worship Him. The repeated refrain shows David’s confidence that God’s glory and presence transcend any earthly circumstance.
