Matthew 16:25
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.

- Peter’s confession —> You are the Messiah!

- Get behind me Satan.
Do you trust me?
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and HE will make your paths straight.
Matthew 16:24-25
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “WHOEVER wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
25 For WHOEVER wants to save their life will lose it, but WHOEVER loses their life for me will find it.

What good will it be for SOMEONE to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can ANYONE give in exchange for their soul?
What are you giving your heart and soul to that is pulling your attention away from Jesus?
Matthew 16:27
For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.
“What you have done?” Accomplishments? List!
Kingdom life? Surrender!
Big Idea: Don’t want to waste your life? Surrender it, lay it down and God will raise you up and use you for his glory. Your life for his glory is never a waste.
